I started my coaching method with one goal in mind: to help people find happiness in their work, relationships, and life. My background in arts education, combined with my personal interest in creativity and positive psychology, help me bring others’ dreams to life.
ABOUT ME
Liz Heichelbech is a creativity coach, educator, author, and artist. She earned her BFA in Fine Arts Studies from the University of Arizona, and a Masters in Education from Lesley University. She holds Massachusetts state teaching certifications in Dance, Theatre, and English, and has taught in the Weston Public School district for over twenty years. She also served as an instructional coach, and was the facilitator for The Weston Secondary New Teacher Mentor Program for eight years.
A life-long researcher and practitioner of creativity, Liz has worked with children, teens, and adults across creative disciplines in a range of settings, from schools and senior citizen centers to dance companies and churches. From comedy improv to public speaking, collage art to creative writing, Liz loves empowering others through facilitating the creative process. She first experimented with teaching creativity as a teenager, when she helped a group of at-risk youth to use their imaginations and learn cooperatively in a summer camp arts curriculum she both developed and taught.
Liz is also a creator in her own right. A former professional dancer and choreographer, she has also acted semi-professionally, and is a published, award-winning creative writer. Her first novel, Chopin in Kentucky, was published in January 2023 by Bluemoose Books, and she is currently at work on the sequel. She has written, produced, directed, costumed, marketed, and performed in six interdisciplinary theatrical concerts. She was the organizer and instructor for WIG Out Boston, a women’s improv group. She has performed in an improvisational singing group, designed and constructed giant puppets, been a street poet-for-hire, and been involved in a gazillion other creative adventures. In the art studio, she designs and creates mandalas, collage cards, mixed-media canvases, and one-of-a-kind prayer flags. She also enjoys designing and crocheting whimsical fibre art sculptures and wearable art.
Liz believes in the restorative power of creative play in writing, and the fine and performing arts. She knows well how to help others access, respond, and transform their ideas, feelings, desires, and dreams through guided, process-oriented artistic adventures. Whether through writing, dancing, acting, making stuff (or helping others to do the same), Liz is on a mission to inspire.
I’d love to help you find your new path. Collaborate with a creative expert to design and enjoy your most inspired life.
